Walking Football (Men’s and Women’s)

Walking football offers significant physical , mental and social benefits by providing a low impact way to stay active, it helps to reduce the risk of chronic disease and type 2 diabetes while combating loneliness and improving overall wellbeing.

Amongst the benefits from participating , regular sessions help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, improve blood pressure and boost blood circulation. It also contributes to better heart health, develops core strength, and can lead to weight loss by improving body composition and reducing fat mass, and the game aims to improve, coordination and mobility which is particularly beneficial for older adults in preventing falls.

Walking football provides a significant boost to emotional health, improving self confidence, self esteem and helping people feel a sense of purpose and belonging. The social side of football cannot be underestimated as this outdoor event gets people out of the house, stay active and encourages players to feel part of the wide community.

Our sessions take part on a Monday evening with Ladies Football ,aged 40+ , taking part at Arbour Park between 7-8pm and Mens Football , ages 50+, are from 8-9pm .
