Slough Town FC and Battersea Dogs Home
With the buzz of the Lionesses and the new season about to start, football fever is sweeping the country, well, almost the country, as one group seems to be missing out.
The fantastic people at Battersea Dogs Home placed an appeal out this week as they had run out of footballs for their dogs to play with. The organisation, which has a centre based in Old Windsor, took to social media to find a way to support its residents due to the lack of footballs. After seeing the appeal, our Operations Manager, Kay Lathey, and Community Manager, Ade Gomm, searched Arbour Park to see if they could fulfil this request.

Armed with a big bag of footballs found around the ground, although this does raise questions about players’ shooting skills, Ade headed to the rescue centre, much to the delight of the staff and the animals at Battersea. Ade said, “It was brilliant for us as a football club to be able to help with this appeal, and great to pop down and meet the fantastic staff and dogs. The team here are fabulous, and with just this simple donation, we know that the dogs here are going to have endless fun with all these old footballs. We hope to continue to help everyone here at Battersea in the near future”.
