Building partnerships and foundations within our community is one of our main focuses as a community group and we recently worked with the Global Fatherhood Summit on a fantastic event here in Slough on Saturday 18th July. The event was held at the Lynch Hill School, next door to Slough Town , and allowed fathers the chance to talk and interact with their children in a safe and welcoming environment.

This is the first event that the organisation as held and works on building a connection for fathers and their children through both physical and mental activities and this helps break down the barriers that fathers face in connecting to their children and trying to understand and learn that these barriers are easy to overcome. By using skills such as individual meetings on a one-to-one level, parental briefing sessions, connecting through shared experiences and using sample question cards to break the ice and allow the conversation to flow.

Physical activities are also used as a way of team building and working as father and child or as a team to connect and enjoy experiences together. All of these seasons are developed to be able the Global Fatherhood team to showcase that both fathers and children can share their feelings, build repiore and strengthen the bond that is often missing in nuclear families.

The event was a huge success with a large number of people attending and enjoying spending time together. With some excellent feedback received , the next session is booked in for early December and we will keep you informed closer to the date of how you can become a part of an amazing organisation.
