Using the power of football to improve mental health for both men and women within our community.
Slough Town FC have formed a partnership through our community work to join up with Sport in Mind to utilise the power of football to improve mental health issues amongst our town’s residents.
Mental health wellbeing is a large priority in the town with current suicide rates for men nearly 3 and 1/2 times higher than in women. One of the fantastic organisations trying to tackle mental health is Sport in Mind who use sport as a way of helping provide an opportunity to reduce mental health issues. Sport is so powerful in that it opens pathways for those suffering to find a course that can help increase social interaction, build self esteem and self confidence.

With Slough Town FC continuing to work with groups in the town, we are pleased to announce we are joining Sport in Mind to offer a FREE Football for Wellbeing session. The session is available to all abilities and is a fun and casual approach for those who are experiencing mental health issues.
The session runs from 1-2pm on a Monday, except Bank Holidays, at Arbour Park and there is plenty of parking onsite. For anyone wishing to attend they must either email info@sportinmind.org or scan the QR code . Sessions are for mixed genders and are played in a relaxed yet competitive manner.
